I am trying to get more details of the above mentioned person married to Anna Maria den Rappen on 26.1.1861. We live in New Zealand and are putting our family history together. Wifes maiden name Hulshof.
I searched the Genlias database (www.genlias.nl) and found that children of this couple got married in Amsterdam in the late 1900s. Albertus Johannes Hulshof was a carpenter (timmerman).
Do you know where the mentioned couple got married? Then you can probably find the marriage papers on the FamilySearch website, easier accessible through www.genver.nl
On the website of the Stadsarchief Amsterdam, you can find that there is a "gezinskaart" ("family card") available of an A.J. Hulshof born 9 March 1838.
Maybe you can try to find a forum that covers the Amsterdam area. This forum covers the province of Noord-Brabant.

To be able to access the full scans in the Stadsarchief Amsterdam you need to buy 'credits' first. Since I had a few credits left I had a quick look for you in that one scan: Albertus Johannes Hulshof born Amsterdam 9-03-1838; Anna Maria den Rappen born 25-03-1838 Amsterdam. There is more info on that card, such as names and DOB's of the children (only sons?), their professions, their movements to and from etc. But with these DOB's you can already search further via Familysearch (easy accessible via the link Dorethé gave you already [www.genver.nl]).
