Theodorus was born at Eindhoven on 27-04-1826 (according to the baptism? record on RHIC-Eindhoven), and with 1 day difference in the date (i.e. 26-04-1828) (according to the marriage record on GENLIAS).
The latter record (Marriage) states that his father's name was "N.N." and his mother's name was "Johanna Hendrika Schellen". This would seem to indicate that Theodorus was illegitimate, but I have come across records before that had "N.N." as the father, with the mother having the same name as the child - and I later found a name for the father, which turned out to be the same surname as the mother's, because they were related to each other.
How can I go about trying to find out if this is true in this case? I have looked up to see the church registers for that year in BHIC, but there are none available! Where do I try next? Can anyone help me please - I would be very grateful!

A scan of the birth certificate can be found easier on eindhoven.digitalestamboom.nl. Search for Thedorus Schellen and afther finding the correct record click "scan bekijken".
Theodorus is born on the 26th, but the declaration of his birth took place on the 27th of April.
His mother married in 1835 to Johannes Otto Bernard (in the database look for Johannes Henrica Schellen). At the Eindhoven site you can find the marriage certiticate (2 pages) and at the Family Search Site all marriage papers (Netherlands, Civil Registration, 1792-1952 Noord-Brabant Eindhoven Huwelijksbijlagen 1834-1835 image 296-300, same film as births, marriages and deaths).

Theodorus was born 26-04-1826 at Eindhoven, father not mentioned. The mother was 21 years old at the time.
Notice of the birth was done by the obstetrician(male) and two male witnesses.

Theodorus Schellen's parent was only Johanna Henrica Schellen.
In the papers regarding his marriage to mrs. Margaretha Stauber(21-08-1858 's-Hertogenbosch) I found the same confirmation.
