Hello. Around 1965 I learned to parachute from Seppe airfield. We assist with air advertising and I jumped out of the Auster PH-OTO about 20 times. My very first flight in a aeroplane was my first jump. After 10 jumps I landed for the first time in my life. A special experience ! The early aero-cart plane had been modified for v the first Skye diving school for free fall.
Instructors Tom Verschoor and Pellens modified the plane
They removed the right door and placed a very small stool for a third man in the tale on place of the earlier aero cart camera. This third man was necessary to assist the para to fold himself to get out of the narrow dooropening.
Because of the total weight we had the slender pilot. three men and a very old fashion army parachute had to go airborne . Realizing that this all was very special like to have a picture of this aircraft as a reminder or at least some info such as type no. etc. I've scoured the internet but nothing about this plane.

Hello gentlemen, my apologies for jumping onto this conversation. I too have an interest in finding out more about the Auster PH-OTO. My reason is that I now own the aeroplane. Now in the UK and registered G-AXUJ, it is still airworthy and is regularly flown; though not for parachuting! I would be very grateful for any information or photographs either of you may have. That includes dates as I am a little confused by some info I have ground especially about PH-OTO's days with KLM.

Dat is jammer, Herman. Je zou verwachten dat zo'n club wel foto's zou hebben van de vliegtuigen die ze gebruik(t)en. Hopelijk kom je toch nog eens een mooi exemplaar tegen.

Bij ENPC hadden zo ook niks voor mij , alleen het museum een vage antieke foto .
Daar ben ik ook blij mee, maar iets meer was leuk geweest.

Beste Herman, Dat zal inderdaad een bijzondere ervaring zijn geweest. Helaas hebben wij ook niet geen foto van het toestel. Misschien kun je het proberen bij parachutistenvereniging Skydive ENPC, die op het vliegveld actief is.

Rond 1965 heb ik vanaf vliegveld Seppe leren parachutepringen .Onder andere ben ik een keer of 20 uit de Auster PH-OTO gesprongen .Bijzondere ervaring ! met Pellens verschoor van campenhout en de slanke piloot. (vanwege het gewicht er moest drie man in!)
Beseffend dat het toch wel erg bijzonder en leuk was zou ik graag als herrinnering een foto willen hebben van deze kist of tenminste wat info als type nr. etc. Ik heb heel internet afgestruind maar juist van dit vliegtuigje niks.
